


Edinburgh is now second only to London in terms of UK tourism destinations and has world famous events such as the Fringe, Book Festival and Hogmanay. The Eventful Edinburgh initiative, commissioned by VisitScotland, was aimed at promoting all of Edinburgh's events and festivals under one banner for the first time.
The main aim of the project was to boost the "out of season" months in Edinburgh and highlight new events such as the Easter Parade being held in April. The online campaign, underpinned by the lightershade developed interactive website, was extremely successful and promoted Edinburgh as a year-round tourism destination during the campaign period between Winter 2003 and Autumn 2006.
