Online video delivers communication

7 April 2006

We have been working with Aegon Asset Management to use online flash video for the first time to communicate monthly strategy updates to internal and external audiences.

Each month, Bill dinning, Aegon's head of strategy outlines the key economic drivers, which expresses Aegon's current view on world markets and its global strategy. In three minutes he summarises the key points and gives a clear picture of detailed financial information.

Garry Latimer, Aegon's Head Of marketing communications explains: "The use of video brings dry information to life and helps viewers to make sense of the in depth reports that the video accompanies. As a society we increasingly receive our news through TV, rather than the written word. Using video in the corporate workplace is a national evolution of that trend."

The video goes out at a set time each month to a regular audience and is archived in a searchable library of information. Aegon now has plans to extend the project having proved the concept to communicating information about specific products and markets, including graduate and fund views.
